is it easier to just weld up the collector first? I was thinking of tack welding everything in place (with an unwelded collector) then weld all the tubes including the collecter 1/4's. The use a stick welder (I dont have a TIG machine) to get in-between the tight areas on top of the collector.

What do you think, any advice is greatly appreciated

 

I really suggest making the collector first, everything hinges from there.

 

Alright, I'll take it from that approach. Would using a stick welder (Jet rod) be OK, since a TIG isnt available

Your timing belt is off by a tooth or twenty.

 

The head is only held on by one bolt. I had it off to check the bottom end.
