finally built my own exhaust

finally built my own exhaust
well i really got tired of running open downpipe, and smelling like raw *** gas when i got out of the car. plus it was mad loud, and i was always getting hassled by the local law.
so i grabbed some 3 inch mandrel bends from a buddy, got a stick of 3 inch from an exhaust shop, my chop saw and mig welder and went at it. not bad for my first complete exhaust, so i think.
i used a "Bullet" muffler from summit, the welds looked like ***, but for 27 bux i cant complain, i also used a 3 inch V band from full race to go from the downpipe to the exhaust, much easier to take off.
and i had to put a gangster dump on the back
all in all i like it, i did have to put a couple tiny bends in it with a bender but nothing that would inhibit flow, it is much nicer to have the noise back at the rear of the car, instead of under my feet!
it is kinda loud still but i hadnt found a 3 inch resonator yet locally so i will probably have to order one from the internerD

Re: finally built my own exhaust
looks very nice being homemade
Roadrace sell resonators for cheap:

glass packed and louvered cored, shouldn`t cause any noticable restriction, glass packed alone don`t do ---- anyway.

Just noticed you're around Mobile. (i think). I got a buddy down there with a red turbo eg b18 hatch. Don't know why I mentioned that..but I did.
Exhaust looks good. Muffler looks funny in a good way.

Re: finally built my own exhaust
thanks guys, for the price i really couldnt beat it.
stealthmode- i only used 1 V band at the front in the first pic, i wanted to be able to remove it without using those piece of ---- 3 bolt flanges, as my hands are FAT and i can never get the top bolt!
yes i am in mobile, but i dont know of anyone with an LS turbo hatch, i work at the ONLY performance store in mobile, so im sure he has to know who i am

Re: finally built my own exhaust
Oh duh. I read the post and thought for some reason you meant at the turbo/downpipe connection. Anyway, you forgot how much the v-band was. I've never even seen a price, but I've heard people say how spendy they are.
