Default Fast E-Cutout - Open in 1/10sec

Well this is an idea I've had since forever, I just had more important things (and no parts). The TB idea isn't mine, but AFAIK the solenoid idea is. I made a rather crude rendering, but this is intended for my turbo sohc. 3" turbo-back, e-cutout before 1st bend at gas tank (after 1 resonator), when closed it will follow the stock piping to a decent 100% OEM muffler I got, with the OEM chrome tip for the ricers.

Parts list:

$21 - Mustang Throttle body (65mm, most Ford 4.6L V8's use this same TB), I hope to sell the TPS for $10
$7 - cheap ebay throttle cable, smooth & braided (using Honda auto kick-down cable atm)
$4.5 - 7.8lb solenoid, place that sells them surplus ran out. Plan to make others with a two smaller ones ($20 each )
$2.5 - switch & 12vdc relay, will have it activated by EMS or TPS via relay or switch
$x - scrap metal, mock-up uses an 1/8" plate of corroded magnesium
--------
$35 total for an awsome cutout.

Anyways, with the one heavy-duty solenoid, it can open it 75% in 0.1 of a second (90% in 0.5), and with two it will be 100% in under 0.1 of a second. FYI the 65mm + 1.625 stock muffler will flow the same as the 3" OD piping, so 75mm is overkill. The best part - FAST, no motor hanging in the way, and nothing to burn out or gears to strip (if using a continuous-rated solenoid).

Well I could do it as early as next week onto my EF, but I'd rather put the 1st on my EG. For that I'd have to TIG a new topmount adapter & DP, which has to be A/C-compatable too. Its kind of a rock & a hard spot deal.

The main problem is John Cui is dragging his *** sending me a new reg code for Crome Pro.

Good Idea. I'm going to have to look into building something like that one of these days.

I've been looking at the QTEC/QTP videos, and those cutouts take over 5 seconds to go from closed to open. Half the time the person judges it wrong and leaves it half closed. Mine pops open, fire & forget.

Hopefully next week I'll have this on my EF. I have I get Tues-Thurs off, and all the parts are waiting in its trunk.

Hah that's what I was thinking.

But, a big red button that says VTAK, with a clear plastic cover that says DANGER....flip it up and hit the vtak button, chaos ensues

i don't want to sound dumb, but what is the purpose? More back pressure so you spool faster?
