Bought a evo manifold and fabricated it onto my 88 escort. Here is a link to the pictures (slideshow).:

I have JE forged pistons,H-beam rods, full floating wrist pins and balanced lower end.The head is ported with double valve springs.I am going to run a standalone computer and 550 injectors.I will be drag racing this so i put is a spec clutch with a fidanza flywheel that i bought for a thunderbird turbo coupe.Had to do some fabrication but the clutch is bigger diameter in the turbo coupe and can handle more HP.I also put a phantom grip in the diff and changed all the syncro's.I am using a turbonetics t3/t4 unit for boost and just got a deal on a tial v-band wastegate.

Looks good, pretty nice way to do it. Thing should haul some ***. Going with megasquirt?

Who's white rolla in the background? I spy a NPR intercooler, is it still sporting a 3tc powerplant? It looks familiar, might have seen it on another website, but box corrola's start to blend together. Draglights, no bumpers and an NPR is pretty common.

engine mess, just got it dropped back in a couple days ago.

The escort has a holley comander 950 allready installed. It was a N/A motor but he blew it up.I hope the holley unit doesn't cause me too much grief.
The corolla is mine.
It is a 3" intercooler i bought off ebay.It is running a megasquirt with a mitsubishi starion motor.

Cool, I like the holley cmd950 stuff. Use to run it on my 2.3turbo ford. Never gave me any problems what so ever.

Be sure and stop in to toyota3tc.com with your rolla if you have not already.

Is there any good info i should read about tuning the 950 or a place to get base maps to start the tuning process?I will need to find someone who is good at tuning the holley unit.I will be able to get it running ok but i am shooting for big HP and will need to get it tuned right at some point.

That was the only drawback I had with it, starting out I was on my own. And back when I got mine all that was out was the base setup that did not have wideband support. So it was a bit of a pain, once the upgrades came available it got worlds easier. Doubt it will help much, but I will see if I can find my old file. I was running 2.3ford, tfi ignition, 30# of boost, holset hy35 turbo. Made 420rwhp.

I just called holley and you can buy the wideband controller module and it comes with a free update on my 950.I just send it in and they update it to work with the 950 pro software and wideband.I am using a .63 A/R turbonetics t3/t4 ball bearing unit. They call it a "50 trim" and hope to make in the 300 HP range.I am also running the TFI module, just like you.I really appreciate any help i can get.Not too many (if any)big HP 1st gen escorts out there.I have found some 2nd gen BP(mazda 1.8 ) guys making high 200 HP.I am from connecticut, where are you located?

It will work with any wideband, theirs is an fjo unit which if I remember correctly is kinda pricey. I was using an innovated lm-1 with mine.

There is a Chevy site called chevytalk.com go to the efi section and do some reading, make a few friendly post and then ask about getting an upgrade to your box. There is a few Holley techs that live on that site. I had my box upgraded from base to race and then when the pro came out upgraded again. Each time they did it for free. They all came with the Pro firmware starting a few years ago so they should do it anyways.
I will dig out my old computer and search some emails and see who "helped" me out last time.

Thanks,i will go look over there and i may also post this on the EFI university holley forum.I went through their tuning 101 class. It was a OK but to think you can go and spend 20 hours in a classroom and then tune a 4 cylinder to 350HP is bull.

I fought a microtech on the corolla for like a year. I would get it running good and then go to the track and backfire the 2nd 1/2 of the track. The microtech finally froze up and i gave up.I am hoping to do better with the MS.

Found my holley file on a website online alond with a couple more
http://www.capri-list.com/turboford/

I would pull timing out of all of them under boost if you use one of them as a start point. Still looking for the emails from holley.
Looks like ging through the EFI training stuff they would hook you up.
