I cut mine for my D-series.

I also cut my headers for my 350. The 350 is especially nice b/c you don't have to cut any bolt holes, so the 3 sets of ports all seal by themselves relatively independently.

I had a leak.

Cut it.

Leak gone.

I'm REALLY considering doing this now.


I looked at my exhaust gasket and noticed in the 2 upper furthest corners that exhaust was leaking out. The head flange was shaved JUST BEFORE, and it still leaked. I'm really suspicious now.

surfacing will be fine, since its already welded up just do that and don't bother with cutting.

We cut all of ours after the manifolds were welded.

Cutting it will help it seal better. End of story.

It was surfaced before and I pulled it to have a crack welded up and noticed a leak on the gasket. So it looks as if it warped while on the head. :-\

I want to cut it and I think it WILL seal better too Snafu.

it says to cut them in maximum boost. but like josh said, you cant cut it after its welded
