Fluxcore is actually very good when it comes to how it holds.
The trick to welding to cast is heat. It works best if you can heat it up via a torch then weld on it.
You then need to have the right heat vs wire so your weld is sinking in. You will know if there is too much wire when it starts to bead up. The big problem is with alot of heat and slower wire it is VERY hard to fill gaps. From the looks of your it should hold, and don't worry about how it looks that is what grinders are for

It's a Ford RsTurbo Manifold. Alsmost matched out on a D-series... so changed the runners, welded a CRX flange on.
And... re-attached the T3 flange.
Ghetto style.
Spooled like a ----------er.
And see the downpipe elbow? That's some serious Fluxcore... did a 1inch gap with it.
