I dunno exactly where S&W places the frontmost bar on their halo, but if it is tucked right at the top of the windscreen, and the monkey driving wears a seatbelt, head-to-bar contact isn't going to happen.

So you have nothing to say about whether or not the driver's head will hit the front halo bar of an S&W 10 pt in an accident?
You know... it's kinda real ------- pointless to put a structural safety member right where the driver/occupant is guaranteed to brain themselves on it. I think you just owned youself, by opening your mouth in the first place.

I know you're probably itching for an intellectual argument to fill your Sunday, but I'm realy not taking the bait.
No, I can't see the driver hitting his head on anything, in any situation whatsoever.
Are you asking me to analyse an accident that hasn't happened? Without knowing what accident, if any it will take for someone to hit thier head on at least one of those bars, I'll stick to not putting 10pt cages in my car. You put the 10pt in your street car, laugh at honda or whoever that doesn't put one in, and when you crash, we'll sit down and analyse it on a Sunday for you. That is, if you haven't killed yourself on the jungle gym.

I kinda tend to agree with Stelath on this one.Im tall enough my head would be beside that top bar runing along the roof to the front.I dont think foam is gonna help if i bang my head off there at a serious force.I went with a 8 point roll bar to try and keep the roof from collapsing on my head if i roll over as I like to drive rather aggressive through some mountian and country roads around here. The fact somehting might keep the me from wearing the dash is a nice thought though as your def right any CRX/Civic i see the front end is perfect for a half ton truck to ride up.

I am no expert on cages but I will say that the fitment of that cage looks way off. There shouldn't be such a huge gap between the bars and the pillars. And is it really possible to get a rex to 200mph? Never heard of such a thing...

Anything is possible, but I remember the salt flats civic hitting like 202 and it was in the magazine as a great accomplishment, so I'd be surprised if I had a 200mph crx and could even find a road long enough to get it up there.

Gee, I dunno, I've been in an ED with a faulty seat belt when I flew upward and hit one of the OEM frame rails in the ceilling, right where it's joined to the top of the doorframe and pretty stout. I cracked the plastic crap, my neck hurt for a month. I can't see a foam padded bar being anything but better, at worst it is the same.
Well, it's a generic kit, so the fitment is never perfect-perfect. The halo should be tucked up higher against the roofline, etc. You can probably fit a finger between main hoop and ceilling liner. *shrug*
As for getting a CRX to 200 mph? Sure you can, but it's going to need some work with aerodynamics, and to have more weight added for stability. The Black Car pulls easily to 145 in 4th gear between mutant revlimit, LS gearing, and the Mickey I-tread's OD. No one has had the cajones to hold it down in 5th, I'm sure it gears out in the 170-range with wind resistance not slowing it much. Just takes a bit of power and you're golden.
