I just adjusted to where the starting arc was the strongest. Somewhere around 10 to 20 thousandths. It's not as easy as a Miller to get the right gap. They use garbage copper points where as Miller and Lincoln use half inch tungsten cylinders.

speaking of which i was working on a set of custom long tube headers 20 min ago and stopped because i heard the welder hissing during HF. Popped the case off and the spark gap looked about 1/16" with no visibile wear. So i squished them back together with a set of needle nose pliers without actually gapping them and all is well.
I use mine all the time so I normally do it about once a month, but I would ALWAYS open your case to close the gap and blow the case out (i had cspider webs in mine from missing just one month sheesh). Anyway... Clean and re-gap your welders every 2-3 months or you'll regret it. it'll be like the one I returned where the gap was originally huge and it burned out within 5 uses...

I've got a WSME - 200P like the one pictured above.. It's not too bad except that the torch, earth lead/clamp, electrode holder, foot control etc are utter crap.
The big question is what brand name torch can I adapt to suit this machine.. Miller, Kempi etc.
Cheers all.

I've had my machine for 18 months or so.
Do a fair bit of arc welding ao the electorde holder was the first to go simply because I prefer twist lock hand peice.
The earth clamp was really thin and wore out quick when welding I beams together with 4mm electrodes.
Now the tig torch has started to get tatty so it needs to go..

Yeah I bought mine off ebay, It doesn't have the plasma built in as I was going to buy one seperate to use as an arc/cut machine that would be more
portable.
I paid about $900 Australian for mine...
