The tig is arc start with no pedal. I believe you can use a pedal with it and he sells one. He usually responds quickly to questions.

if its not scratch start thast pretty neat; i may look into getting one of these

thats what i was hoping for. I tried once to start a scratch start tig; and at low amps i sucked at it this little chinise fabricating machine that could seems ever more interesting
