thanks. as i have mentioned in other threads, the car stuff is filler work for me when the industrial stuff is slow. business seems to go up and down with the industrial stuff so it is nice to have some gap filler work. i consider myself reasonable at this stuff, i've seen far better work from other people who are extremely good welders in here and on other forums. i wouldn't be half as good if i didn't frequent these forums to learn new stuff and pick up new ideas! i really enjoy doing this stuff, even though some times it is a pain to do, i like making something work the way it should or coming up with a creative solution to the problem. i just don't think i could make as good money doing it all the time since it is so labour intensive and the market is soaked with people making stuff for almost as cheap as cost of materials and a couple hours of work.... this keeps profit margins down for everyone. atleast the consumer has a choice of who they want to go to. as long as i keep doing this sorta thing i will always stand behind my work and if something doesn't fit or cracks, i will fix it at my own expense.

it would ve been easier just to cut off that endtank and make a new one with a rear entry inlet. looks like you made a headache out of that.

i personally would want a break in the pipes so that i could use a few couplers to compensate for engine movement

I like fabbing up my own stuff myself too, but for the charge piping I tried a prebent kit from godspeed, got the intercooler/chargepiping for $300, it came with nice silicone couplers, and tbolt clamps, and man did it fit nice! I had to make 1 cut, it looks nice too.

I'm actually not going for all custom. That's just the way everything sadly happened with this car. There isn't too much aftermarket support for the DA Integra, and it also has a pretty tight engine compartment. Space is limited. I had to place the rad like that or the downpipe would have hit, or got close enough that it would have probably melted the fan.

the downpipe had to be lengthened about an inch on the vertical section as it was originally mocked up by the person who made it on a b16 block and not a b18 which has a taller deck height. also, i had to make an adjustment to the dump tube so that it wasn't going to hit the front engine mount... that was my fault, so no charge. he just brought down the block to get rid of the oil squirters as he is running an ls crank in a b18c block. if i'd had my camera at the time i would have done a writeup on it. i ended up drilling out the M8x.75 threaded holes (couldn't source any bolt that size on short notice) and re-tapped them for 1/8" NPT fittings that will seal just as well. they are thread lock tightened in nice and toight... just how mike likes his french women. unfortunately the boys are off to montreal for the long weekend and won't be getting any wrench time until tuesday. they plan to have this thing racing at the next cscs event in 2 weeks. kinda tight timeframe i think since the block is still bare! :P
