Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
That is a huge waste of money, I bet they melt as soon as you start the car. :S
Later Randy |
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
I prefer the duplo's or the build-a-blocks since I'm a broke ass like that. Those are some expensive ass pieces of plastic tubing though. :S Do it really help out that much fabbing ---- up before hand?
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
I was close to purchasing a set.. but have not talked with anyone using them yet.. Like asked, do you feel the price tag was justified?
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
that does seem a bit pricey for plastic............. unless your planning to mass produce

Note I am a guy that does this stuff for a living, I didn not just buy the set for doing to 1 manifold I do this work as an everyday thing so when I can do work like this very quickly on a custom setup and not have to waist several hundred in material to weld plus the time it takes to cut/fit/tack/test/then find out it wont work..... -James |

this is more for custom work. so you dont have to cut, tack and check if its good a million times. |
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
this might seem dumb but how does the process work? u fit the plastic pieces like that... then you cut/weld the steel tubes to exactly the same angles and such? i mean, its still hard getting the steel tubes to have the exact bends and such isnt it? looks crazy btw.

Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
They are a great tool for someone woh builds manis for a living and probably worth every penny in the stime they save you.I wish they were cheaper so the regular joe could afford them too.
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
i really like the idea. rock on
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
see guys you got it all wrong.....its super plastic....all you do is form it out, and hook it up to the car.....the heat changes the plastic in to Stainless Steal.... ::)
Cool idea....hell of a price tag |
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
i have known of that company for a while and wonderd if anyone had a set was looking to buy them untill i seen the price but might still get them in a few years... was also looking at ther tube cutting spacer...
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
james, that looks awsome buddy!how many pieces does it come with?
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
God these things rock!
Customer wasnt quite happy with the original design so I started messing with them some more and got a end design the customer loves and is much easier to build http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=1 http://jg-fab.com/gallery/main.php?g...serialNumber=1 Looks like a cosworth manifold for an s2k lol Unfortuantly it isnt as close to el as it was before but is still closer than anything else out there (p1 13", p2 13", p3 11", p4 13") -James |

Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
For a fabricator I agree that those "legos" are priceless!
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
So its for a customers car and not your race S2K...
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
I already posted pics of my manifold for my car
this is not my manifold is a customers -James |
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
damn that collector is tits i want one
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
Are those on a 2.5 or 2" radius? And where are you getting the tight radius SS bends?
|
Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
Those things are so pimp.
They would definately be an excellent investment for a professional fabricator. Think of how much time and scrap you could save by using these things. I bet it doesn't take long to get a good ROI on these things. Very cool!! |

Re: A bit of fun with my new legos
Someone should buy a set and "rent" them out. I know I could use a set right now.

You just require a Hold Deposit on the item simple as that.
