So if you paint the pipes and install while it is "wet", when it dries, it forms a seal AND acts as a adhesive. |

Dude, take some solid 1/16" - 1/8" wire/tube/filler rod and bend it around the IC piping and make a few tacks. Probably cost you less than $10 in materials to do it this way.

i usually run steel piping so the paint really helps stick to the coupler with a t-bolt. This setup will probably have a bead welded around the alum pipes.
