Found this pretty nice little write-up on the Galant VR-4 forums. I can't wait to get home and start doing some of this!

I sure don't. Just like this guy, I'm going to make it, and then bring it to a pro to have it welded. I have 2 places in mind right now. Do you happen to know any locals that would be up for doing it? Once I get home, I plan on heading up to Discount Steel on will-call Saturday and grab the pieces I need. Hopefully they have some good stuff in their scrap bins!

I'm basically going to copy his write-up. There may be a few differences though. If I can find some D-shaped aluminum for cheap, I'll use that instead of the box shaped like he used. Also, I'm going to see if my buddies dad (who's a machinest) can use his mill to make the radius's in that flange. Otherwise, I'll use a router just like he did.

does someone want to try a HMT intake build with this stuff?

saved you from having to pay for a welder, AND it looks pretty strong

No thanks, I'll pay to have it welded. I'm sure that stuff has it's place in the world, but that place isn't going to be on my manifold.

I know paul vang has a tig that can do it. My tig only does steel. I can probably see if one of my co workers can weld something like that up for a discounted price. Do you just want holes in a plate? i am also a machinist but i dont have the proper endmill to smoothen it out like he did with the router.

As for the holes, I want them radiused, just like his are. Nice smooth transition. One of my best friend's dad is a machinest, and he may be able to do it for me at his work. If not, well we have a drill press and can get the holes done ourselves, and I will just use a router to make the radiused entries like he did. As for the welding, ya just let me know if you know anyone. Otherwise we know a welder in Maple Grove that works in the same complex LSE used to be in. Or I may have Kyle at MAP do it.

I finally remembered to talk to him today. He said it would be fairly cheap. He didn't really mention a price but he mentioned something about some gloves that i have been giving to him at work. he wants a pack of those lol. I'm guessing the pack is like $20-30. But i'll know for sure whenever i get a picture to him or the actual item.
