Smile aluminized vs mild steel

hey quick question guys whats the difference between aluminized and mild steel? i've worked with nothin but mild pretty much my whole live and stainless everynow and than, but im curiose to the pros and cons of aluminized... couple concerns right off the top of my head would be how it welds? does it create toxic gasses like stainless? durability is another one of my concerns, hows the finish hold up on these is it comparable to stainless? I guess the reason im so curious is i got a guy whos offerin me a couple bends i need for my downpipe and dump tube but he says its aluminized and i dont want to open up a can of worms here, so any one with experience with it that would like to share would be greatly appreiciated thanks

Cool

just be sure to knock the coating off the heat zone before you weld it. the fumes can kill you at worst, and on average will make you feel deathly ill a few hours later for the rest of the day.

I use alumized because of the coating just prep before you weld it.

Haha yeah, take the area being welded to a bench grinder with the brush wheel.
