The flanges that came with the wastegate welded very strange...They had alot of machine oil still in them and there was alot of flames while welding but he got it to penitrate nice.

As for numbers, Im planning on a trip to xenocron once im done for a tune just over 200 whp

thanks guys, and yes dave, this was the quality brett welding madness. im going to say, making the downpipe for this maniflld was easy as ----, but the charge piping is gonna be horrible.

Re: Adding external gate to the Squarefold

make the charge piping out of black abs 2" and youll be in the hmt hall of fame like on my set up nigs https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...opic=36739.250 well im hoping for the hall of fame at least..
oh ---- the moderators of this forum should make a HMT hall of fame the most ghetto and cheapest turbo set ups should be in there! (that work and work not fall apart) just a thought.. you decide nigs :1

and nice set up and i like the color of the valve cover that paint would match my ghetto purple turbo hatch..

shouldnt be bad...just come around the bend from the fmic and then up to the turbo, its just a little further than normal since its up higher

This thing will be around until the end of time. Most SSAC manifolds will probably last a quick trip down the road.

Honestly I doubt hes going to be making enough power that he would notice much of a difference. You people bitch about regular log manifold not flowing as well as a turbular one yet there are low 9sec cars using Log Manifold.

Your wrong. The top mount thing didnt start till a couple years ago. A close friend of mine went 9.40 on a log manifold,,84mm b16a and in 2000. In that era log manifolds or cast via rev hard was what most 9-10 sec cars repped. Really it comes down to spool time but if your launcing at 9000 and staying above 6000 the whole time it doesnt make a damn bit of difference.

you can do better in tight spaces with a mig? dont think so.... those are solid welds on some thick ass metal... just because its not pretty tig welds doesn't mean it wont hold

He only welded the wastegate flange and downpipe. Why dont you post up some of your own work so we can judge your welds. :y

SlowCivicHB 02-13-2007 10:53 PM

Re: Adding external gate to the Squarefold

tight spaces? get a rope idiot. thats about as open a space as youll ever weld,. especially that downpipe.

shitty bottom line. i know it sucks to hear but reality is a bitch ,
