Yes if it was DC thats all I know I have a lincoln buzzbox AC SMAW and a DC GMAW.

PS welders are arc welders. GTAW SMAW GMAW FCAW-G FCAW-S

GTAW - Gas Tungstun Arc Welding (TIG)
GMAW - Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG)
SMAW - Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick)
FCAW-G - Fluxcore Arc Welding (Gas required 'Dual-Shield')
FCAW-S - Fluxcore Arc Welding ( Self shielding 'Innershield' or 'Coreshield')

I definently know that, I just wanted info on if anyone has does that conversion and one other thing, if you can use thumb control or pedal control with the old lincoln machines. I have done just about every type of welding out there, not saying i'm good but I've done everything from Oxy-fuel welding to TIGing aluminum.

Se sure and read the part about doing aluminum on that page though. You can't use the a/c part of the buzz box and have to use DC with aluminum. Thin stuff will be next to impossible, and thick stuff will still be a bit hard to do.

You can buy a cheapo welding machine that you'll later not want, or buy some more accessories (that you can use down the road). It's your choice really.
