i have a friend interested in putting a turbo on his ls1, he asked for my help so im curious about your engine management. I was looking through the stuff at moates.net, but it looked like that was gonna be close to a $1000, which is a little more than hes wants to spend. Do you have anymore info on the MAP conversion or tuning program? Dude is telling me theres a map sensor in the back of the intake manifold in addition to the MAF sensor it already has... seems weird to me.

 

He is indeed true. However the MAP sensor there is for MAF back up only and does not allow the SD option. HPtuners has added tables and updates to their software for the GM 2 bar map sensor. Found on the new cobalt SSsupercharged. At the time of tuning you pay 100 bucks(to the guy that already has HPtuner tuning software) for the add on option.

What is his engine starting as? The LS1 car engine only requires a MAF sensor and tuning. The LS1 vette( I believe) and the truck(for sure), need the MAF deleted but you use the IAT signal and reading wires to splice in the GMC syclone IAT sensor which is a fast read sensor.

Ill have to ask him what the engine is from, i think its the truck engine. So can anyone tune HP tuners software? Or is it like an SCT thing where only dealers can tune it?

 

Its just like megasquirt, efilive, etc. You can buy the business version(unlimited vin numbers), or single user and when you sell it you the new owner can pay a fee for his vin to be added.

 

got all of the cold side done. Not welded in pics but now welded. All I need to do now is run the downpipe once I get more material! super stoked.

Got the dump tube done and some downpipe action but ran out of bends. gaaaaaay.
