I shouldve asked you guys before spraying my car....First time with a paint gun in my hand, with a borrowed P.O.S compressor, came out alright, but I think I mixed the 2nd batch too rich because the doors (being the last parts painted) have a very coarse finish. Nothing that sanding can't fix of course, but i regret not gettin some good info from people that have painted cars.

Actually you should only thin it down to manufacture recomendations. its different for each make of paint. If its too thin it will run and not cover. But your right, youll never get it to cover in one coat. Unless your talking rustolem here.

im not a paint expert, but i see errors like crazy in paint in my job orange peel, fish eyes, runs, dirty primer surface (sat overnight, collected dust/dirt), and open air dry time are probably the 4 biggest mistakes people make

i do crazy mad detail though, and my job is to make those errors less obvious

no joke people pay like $600 for 200 whp or more. Besides if you take your time, and do it right the $50 paint job will come out fine. I wish I had an hvlp gun. I have a cheap harbor freight tools bottom feed gun

i tried the roller method, it was WAY to much damn work. what i have now is just satin black rustoleum, thined down with acetone, then sprayed. was even cheaper and way easier.
