4.0L V8 MKIII supra aiming for 1000whp

something different i've been working on in the shop. i am building two of these. the one shown is for a 600hp street car and the second car will have the identical setup (different turbos) with a fully built motor aiming for 1000whp. i'll post up more pics as the project progresses.

passenger side header:

d/s:
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...a/DSC00495.jpg
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...a/DSC00496.jpg

tight fit, but there is lots of room up front, which is where the turbos are going to sit. the crappy thing is that there will have to be up pipes and down pipes. for it to fit.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...a/DSC00482.jpg

right now i'm just waiting on some v-bands from adam at racing-solutions. hopefully i'll have them next week.

just remember they're normally high class people, so don't act like we all do here LoL!!!

very low-voume, but what you will find is the people that do play, have limitless funds. its nothing for some of them to spend 5-10k on a v8 setup wheels to management just to get it 100% reliable at a measily 600bhp. so make your ---- GOOD if you sell to them. (i know youre tops, but i mean go above and beyond). they expect people to know their ---- 100% and deliver!

Damn that LOOKS GOOD!!! 1UZ FTW. Is it a auto? What mounts are they peewee/mounts? More ino/ pic's need asap!!! Great work as always. :y

Re: 4.0L V8 MKIII supra aiming for 1000whp

i had to make the mounts, as the car was delivered with none. as for transmission, they had an adapter made to mount the mk3 to the auto bell housing of the 1uz so they could still run a manual.

here are the turbos mounted up. just need some v-bands and some intercooler cores to get this done.

Did you call customs with that tracking #? It shouldn't be taking so long.

I remember a thread a few years back where they put that engine in a reconstructed Ferrari F40 and twin turbo'd it. Did >800.

Thats a kit car they sell. Uses the 1uz with a Porsche trans.

Nice work Aaron... any reason why theyre going with internally gated snails??? I see the S covers... What size wheels those little sluts have in them??? 61 or 67???? Either way I know its enough for more than 1000

very nice.

looks just like a certain legend project i took on for someone that was impossible to please, didnt get the parts to me for over a year, sent way beyond 500 emails in that time (seriously) and wanted it all done for just about free. that car drove away with a box full of turbo parts in the trunk. ::)

I'm gonna guess, space conservation and piping simplicity...??? Doesn't look like there's room to get a hard-on in there.

Those strut-tower to core-support braces are gangster. :)

2jz are now in the sub-$400 price range for a good longblock. I paid significantly less for mine.

Love me some 1UZ though. Slap some rods in it and drive it forever at full boost bouncing off the limiter. :6

Honestly, ive never seen a broken Supra rear-end. Nor have I heard of one breaking due to power. Id say some dumbass has killed one that was leaking and ran it dry, but other than that, yeah. The only problems with old IR's like that are the fact that all the bushings are worn and you get wheel hop like a mofo. Fix the old ----, set up the rear correctly with the proper preload on it, and you will have zero issues.

ground clearance is pretty tight, but as long as the driver is careful, no issues should arise.

on the driver's side:
powersteering pump
alternator
passenger side:
a/c compressor

all the accessories sit right in those gaps under the front of the heads.

That is nasty. How do you weld the inside of the runners and avoid deflection on the flange? Do you just sand the flange down afterwords or weld at a really low amprage?

just weld less than 3/4" at a time letting it cool down completely inbetween each bead. it takes all day to do, but you can do other stuff inbetween.

Why not just take a big thick plate of steel, machine some rough holes in it, deck it, then bolt the flange up? I know weiR has the tools, and could get away with much more welding per pass.

All this project needs now is a nice, wholesome naked lady with big boobs in the driver's seat. That would make me wetter than a 12yr old meeting justing timberlake.

This won't really work if you want to weld on the INSIDE of the ports- I mean, you maybe could mille huge, port-sized access holes and try to weld down inside there, but it's not any more practical. But yeah, for welding the outside a thick piece of aluminum is good.

What is debatable is if you need to weld the inside or not...
