INNOVATIVE - Customer service, the fact that there is a screen built in, 44 minutes of On-Board datalogging.

They also have a forum with a lot of users who help each other out...very handy.

If you search around you may find some group buys...I got mine for $309 shipped when I first got it over a year and half ago.

im kinda with xeno on this. bottom line is zeitronix is the solution when it comes to cheap. no display for the $279 pricetag tho.

I bought the Zeitronix and it came in defective. I have another one now that I am putting in the car today. If I were to do it over again I would go Innovate or PLX. I got the Zeitronix because I have to use it on more than just my Honda and it datalogs multiple sensors without extra harnesses.

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATIVE???

I like the Plx, comes out of my car in like 5 seconds. But I guess you could make any of them do that. I have a PLX and a zetronix WB, and I am using the zetronixs in cars that don't have datalogging, makes it nicer. Only problem with Innovative, is buying the pickup signal. The Zeitronix just has more options.

Lol :-X I use both the Innovate and PLX. I like them for their own charactoristics. The LM-1 is very versitile and can be used on many different vehichles/setups/whatever. The PLX is compact and does it's job.

ok so the zeitronics is a bit smaller? and more portable?

SpankedYA! 04-07-2005 09:47 PM

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATIVE???

Yeah its smaller but you need a laptop or the expensive display.

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATIVE???

I have the zeitronix...

I would rather datalog through the zeitronix software. It's nice that you can monitor RPMs, TPS, MAP voltage, and A/F all on one screen... plus the datalogging software is easy to use. :)

I don't want to leave it in the car all the time either, and I need my laptop anyways to burn new chips, so might as well just use my laptop for both and not pay for the display..

Which uses the Bosch LSU 4 wideband sensor?
Those are only about 30 bucks each. I think most of us pitching in would want to have our own or a few extra o2 sensors.

The Zeitronix uses the Bosch LSU.

I'm computer retarded and I somehow managed to get the Zeitronix working(after a few minor problems). I was using it on a slow ass 166mhz laptop with XP and it worked pretty damn good. :)

i would rather data log through the ecu since what the ecu is seeing is what really matter, not what the zeitronix is reading. the only thing you really need a wideband controller for is for the 0-5v linear output to feed in to the ecu, that's it.

I like my Zeitronix, seems to be working fine. I hate the gay serial hookup tho, thats caused me a few headaches... Every laptop we tired to use took a dump on us cause all they had was USB. Tried a serial to USB connector and it didnt work eathier. Finally got a laptop that had a serial port on it and I was good to go.

Cuz all your laptops are cheapo dells... serial is old school..

Serial to USB might work if you install a serial to USB software driver. It is also the same case for my E-Manage -> Serial -> USB connector, it'll work only after the software is installed.

The new Innovate LC-1 is really nice and cheap too. They also have a new XD-1 programmable display gauge, that's the setup I'm going with.

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATIVE???

I think I am going to be getting the balla guage as well :)

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATIVE???

why do some of you guys still call the innovate wideband the "innovative"? :P

Well I have the lm-1 myself and so far I am pretty pleased with it. Its great for tuning multiple cars. What sucks though is that I can't get the damn rpm pickup to work well at all on half of the cars I try tuning. So its sucked on the two obd0 cars i've tried tuning because i couldn't datalog through my obd1 ecu.

i just seen that in the classifieds. how does it work? i have uberdata and datalogging cable and laptop, is that all i would need for that?

Re: ZEITRONIX OR INNOVATE???

I like the Zeitronix so far, only thing I am still trying to figure out is a way to make it more portable in terms of tapping into rpm and map signal on various cars.

on my car i have tapped into the ECU wires and i have a plug i can quick disconnect.

but obviously i dont want to tap the wires on every car i ever tune...thoughts?

in the meantime i wanna get set up with ECU datalogging and an ostrich, and just use my ECU to tune and give these guys i tune for a final burn in their ECU.

Make an OBD1 --- OBD1 harness (like a conversion harness) and tap into all the sensors from that harness. Then, no need to cut, solder or tap into any wires on the other car ;)

If you dont want to make one, let me know ;)
