y8 timing in uberdata
i think the uberdata bin is 16 should i go over the whole map and make it 12? or how should i do the timing part for my y8 on uberdata.

Re: y8 timing in uberdata
This subject has been beat up many times. There is a thread on the Uberdata forums about it. There is no definate answer. I corrected my maps to base 12 on my EK.

Re: y8 timing in uberdata
I believe what most people are doing is using the Y8 bin and changing just the idle portion to 12*. While keeping the timing at the dizzy at 12*.

Re: y8 timing in uberdata
I just removed 4 degrees from the entire map and kept the 12 base.

Re: y8 timing in uberdata
Why don't you just import the P2P maps. Look in the development forum for the script to import the P13, P2P and P73 maps.
Just run the stock Y8 map. It will solve your problems. |
Re: y8 timing in uberdata
I think the thing to keep in mind is, regardless of how you make your timing map, what you set your dizzy to should match what is in the idle portion of the map.
This is how I do mine. Nice big chunk of idle timing, no margin for error. When your running a mix and match Engine, IM/IACV, and who knows what code base in some other ECU, the odds of idling rock steady below 750 is slim. Extend the idle timing up to 1500 and over to 14" of load to negate any shity idle ------- with setting your dizzy to match the maps. http://a4.cpimg.com/image/2C/C7/5457...-01640088-.jpg If I had a y8, id find a stock y8 map. C/P the whole timing map into UD, enlarge the idle timing area to the same #, (doesnt matter if its 12 or 16), and sync the dizzy w/ a dial back timing gun. Done like dinner. |
