Willem programing problem
I have willem chip programer. I am using 29c256 chip and every time I try to program the base map for my P28 i get a cel.
The willem software sais it is programed corectly and i have a green light like every thing is ok but the chip does not work in P28. Does any one know how do I set up the programing speed and any other parameters for 29c256? |
Re: Willem programing problem
You don't need to change speed or anything, just select the 29c256 chip from the menu and it will be set up for burning that chip correctly.
Are you sure it's not your ecu (chipping job perhaps) that's the problem? Have you tried another chip? Either of these could give you a solid CEL. |

My P28 is OK because a frend of mine has the chip that works and I tried his chip in my P28 and it works. When I activate willem eprom it opens information window and i writes: PCB3/A/B SETTING JUMPER WILLEM PCB short ZIF32 Pin3(-) Pin31 Does any one know what that means? |
Re: Willem programing problem
Your post is kind of confusing... ???
So you say your ECU is good because you can use some elses chip from a burner that's not yours. Your car starts, runs, etc. without a CEL. That would rule out your ECU, correct? Uberdata could be a problem, but since you download different bins and burn them directly to a chip (never opening and saving them in any version of Uberdata first?), I would rule this out as well. The burner says it is burning a chip correctly. Are you using the Willem setting or the PCB3 setting? What software version are you using? I would look into the burner setup more to figure out if you're doing it right. When you insert the chip, make sure you can ID it and it wouldn't hurt to verify afterwards. The pop-up messages you're getting is normal. Some people have to use a wire jumper from 3 to 31 to get it to work right. My burner works with the PCB3 setting and I don't have to do it. |
Re: Willem programing problem
Make sure you're putting the chip in the burner and ECU right... They can go in backwards. :1

Some tuner from Slovenia tuned frends chip and that ashol will not share his knowledge. The willem i use is PCB4.5C AND the software that i use is lnstall Version 0.98D5( PBC45C [0.98D5] New!!) ***PCB35-98D5.exe ** (Update 13 September 2005) THAT IS PASTE FROM willem instalation cd. Yes i solved this problem. Maybe I did not understand Uberdata wery good. I open the uber, i open the stock gsr and than insert p28 map. After that i set up fuel and ignition and some other things and save the file. After that i burn it to the chip. IS THAT the way to make the bin file and tune or I am doing it all wrong? |
Re: Willem programing problem
You might've read this already, but this might help:
http://home.mn.rr.com/keebler65/honda/tuning.html Also, check the CEL if you can. The 3,500 rev limit is probably limp mode. |

I open the uber, open the stock gsr map, then inster p28 and I remove the o2 heater because my car does not have it. I save the map as it is. Is that stock p28 map or I am doing it all wrong. In the crome i just open the p28 map and make smal changes because I have 1.5 and save it. Would that bin be ok or I am doing it all wrong |
