it's not great but it'll do the trick. In my opinion it's better than an fum, but still sucks compared to a chipped ecu. And yes i ran the AFC "hack" way back, with tuner toys 450's. Once you get it all hooked up i believe you need to scale the maps down to -38 fuel and then slowly start subtracting fuel. Basically subtract most of it under 4K rpm because that will be pig rich and may not want to idle properly. But you should just try to get a chipped ecu and tune it if possible. All the AFC does it alter the MAP sensor values, so when you're subtracting fuel, it's showing the ECU a map signal that mimmics having more vacuum, so in turn, the ecu also adds more timing; which is bad. Now i never had a problem with it, and mine ran like a raped ape, but i guess some people have had problems, and try to use timing control deviced like MSD's BTM. In my opinion, if you buy an afc and a btm you need your head examined because for the same price you can get a chipped ecu and tune it for the same price or less. But i understand that some people have afc's lying around. Just be careful.

Atleast with the VAFC i can learn how to use it. I don't know 2 things about chipping an ECU and don't really have the time/ enrgy to learrn. Plus you pay about $500 total for the chip ecu and a tune rather than 150 for the hack

chip= 5 bux maybe?
CROME= free

i got all my stuff from xeno (chipped ecu, burner, chips) and a wideband on sale all for under $350, and its easy as hell to learn how to tune, ---- with uberdata or crome for about a week or so and you'll see it aint that big a deal

and chipping an ECU takes all of 20 minutes if you read up on it, if you cant find 20 minutes to chip it then where are you going to get the hour its going to take you to wire up that hack and get the car limping enough to drive it?

get a ------- ecu you dumb *** ----, or keep a camera with you and give us some pics when you shoot a rod through your block
