it looks like a starter kill. does it look like something is broken off in it? if it is some one has snapped off the key card in it so it doesn't get lost. my sol has one in it.

no its not dopey...pins slide INTO that connect. DLC plugs have pins in them...

Actually, it's the almost the exact same connector. 8 pins on each side. Don't pay attention to the "official" OBDII casing as in the second pic, the home made setup as in the first one has plenty of room and allows for an OBDII connector to fit.

That is what I was thinking. One of my old cars had that, I tore it out. Seemed to be more trouble than it was worth.

Its a starter kill connector, I had one in my old car.
