Default Wankel and propane

I'm not the biggest fan of rotaries, but a friend of mine is. He recently picked up a first gen that he's planning on turning into a race car. He's planning on messing with an all motor setup for now. And that got me thinking about converting it to propane. I bet that motor would love it. Just wondering if anyone has seen this done before? I googled it and didn't find anything good.

Propane injection just basically increases the octane of your mixture so that you can run more timing correct?

Rotary's burn really hot (EGTs) which make them good for boost but not more timing I would imagine...and I know that ---- has to be dead nuts on or fuxor city.

No idea about your question but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Try searching around www.efi101.com forums...there are some high HP tuners doing all sorts of stuff over there, they could maybe give you some tips.

I was thinking, since they are so "wet-out" friendly, propane in gas form should really help with the AFR in the combustion chamber/at point of ignition. I'm not completely sure but I think that the high EGT temps are from the chamber burning the mixture really inefficiently, thus the exhaust still having burning fuel in it. I looked into it a little more, and it's sounding pretty good. Thanks for replying, and I'll keep you guys informed if we go along with the conversion.
