VW HM turbo setup
doing a hm setup with a shelby turbo on a 96 VW golf 8V
what would be the easiest thing for fuel mangement? would an FMU suffice?? |
Re: VW HM turbo setup
FMU's suck. I think that some vw guys use megasquirt. You may want to look into that.

Re: VW HM turbo setup
i vote for an extra injector controler... SDS EIC or setting up a Megasquirt as a EIC...

Re: VW HM turbo setup
this is a VERY lowbudget setup....he doesn't wanna spend the money on megasquirt....
so what the next best thing, explain well cause i'm dumb 8) |
Re: VW HM turbo setup
you can just get the turbo chip from TTtuning. But you may have issues with a high MAF signal due to boost. The FMU won't work because the car will still be ready the high airflow and getting f'ed up, there is no way to block the MAF from seeing boost (like the missing link would in a honda). Just get the chip. or even better -switch to Honda

Re: VW HM turbo setup

Re: VW HM turbo setup
eip stage 2 turbo chip- it ran my friends car fine before he went haltech.
i see a lot of vw guys run fmu's...my friend is running a cartech rising rate fmu on an aba-T with g60 injectors. everything else is stock. his a/f is 11.8-12 on 10 psi. plus vw makes its motors out of solid steel or some ----, cause i rarely see one break under mild boost( their trannys are a different story...) |
