Well an AFC generally refers to the Apexi unit. If you like the blue display then go with that. If your not one for flashyness, then a field controller or similar will do just fine. And if you go used just be sure the seller knows it works for sure, and an installation manual might be a nice thing to have when buying used also.

Well if you've got Vtec, go with the VAFC. The VAFC also allows the user to set the vtec points to their own prefference. The SAFC is for non vtec cars. However, you can use the VAFC or the SAFC on either Vtec or non Vtec. It's all up to whetever you want to do.

..just to elaborate a bit, I believe the Field's unit doesn't have as high of correction. I.E., The A'pexi *-AFC corrections +/-50%.. I believe the Field's is +/-30%. I could be wrong though.

ooooh, damn I beleive your right Ef9. I appologize, I forgot about that. The Fields controller and the old style Apexi unit has correction % of up to + or - 30%. The SMC controller will correct up to + or - 50%. maybe thats what I was thinking of.

Well, I know the S/V-AFC correct +/- 50%, I have one of those. It's the Field's I'm unsure of. I know that SMC only does 30% correction.

You are correct.I have a Fields in my car right now.It only has 8 adjustment points in 1k rpm increments. It will only do + or - 30%.Its not flashy at all.I have decided im not even going to try and run my 390s with it.It is made more for N/A B series motors.
