Spend the cash now for a chipped ECU and proper tune.

Or spend the cash later for a new engine.

you talking honda? if you're doing the reading, you know that most of everyone on here is anti-fmu because they're unreliable, unpredictable, and not tune friendly. it's seriously not that hard or much to find a socketed ecu on here, and xenocron can hook you up with a reliable basemap for next to nothing. fmu was the answer back when options were limited and expensive as ----. there are so many other options now. on the other hand, there are a few guys out there that have run fmu's for miles and miles without a problem. if you've already got it in your head that you're gonna use the fmu no matter what, just expect to be thrashed if in a short time you're posting a "my ---- blew up. why?" thread.

for low boost, an fmu with a decent pump will work fine imho. But i mean LOW boost, dont get greedy. Back in the day i beat the snot out of a sohc i had running like 6 psi with an fmu.

these guys convinced me to get a chipped ECU and ditch my ganster *** E Manage and AFC Hack i was considering. DO it.

When you get the chipped ECU and base maps (cheap on xenocrons website) its not much more to get a mild tune to check your A/f and ignition to make sure your good to go.

(Did i do/say that right guys? lol)

I ran one for a year and a half at 5 pounds on a D engine. Stock pump and all. I never had any problems but I'm moving on to bigger and better things now.
I'd say go for it but keep the boost at or below 5 pounds which was hard trust me...
