Default Vortech BTM

Hi!

Can anyone tell me what is the diff between MSD and Vortech BTM? I see on ebay Vortech BTM for 150USD. Does it work alone with my SMC500 or with Vortech Supercharger kit only? Worth buying it? I want to use a BTM iso retarding my distributor.

Thanks...

the vortech btm is able to be used by its self and can be used for turbos also and is made by msd. msd makes a btm that is the exact same thing just differant caseing and they also make some that have to be used with a msd ignition. i had a vortech btm on my first set-up and it worked better then retarding the dizzy. i would say worth buying but not worth $150.

Thank You! And what do you say about MSD #5462? It also seems to be cheaper than MSD serie 6 and i don't see many difference. At least for the goal i want (to get rid of my actual distributor retarding).

I have received this used BTM #5462, but no instructions for my Civic. Can someone tell me how to wire on distributor? (B16A2, OBD2, P2T ECU). With photos if available, pls.

I would like to know which wire connects on distributor (red, white, black, orange) and where I have to wire the rest two (green, purple) coming out of the unit.

I already was searching for manual on wwww.msdignition.com, but there is nothing for universal btm (#5462), only for serie 6 (#6462).

I would say read through some of the instructions you find here:

http://www.msdignition.com/1download.htm

And see if you cant alter them a little using the service manual wiring diagrams for your car.
