ok so a buddy of mine just turboed his del sol, with a JDM d15b2 bla bla......its uberdata chipped (basemap by xenocron) and it runs great at idle, part throttle and everything. You can even take it to redline with partial throttle, as long as you dont go above 2.5lbs boost (or at least thats what the boost gauge reads). When you get to 2.5lbs at any rpm it basically rev limits or "boost cuts".....what would be the problem here? ive tried a new map for him and nothing changed......im running out of ideas for the poor kid lol

not sure at all, are you saying the harness should have been re-pinned or the ecu?

List your entire turbo setup and anything else thats been done to the engine. Is this a JDM ecu your running?

ok i kinda came in half way through a long process so thats why im confused.....originally the car was a b16 del sol....then whoever sold it to the kid was a dick and put in a d15b7......the kid then swapped it to a d15b2(sohc vtec) and now the turbo setup is:

std mani
t25
home made ic lines
starion fmic
oil line kit
chipped p28 (apparently its edm, and now is using the correct settings for the edm ecu)
1st gen dsm bov
3in. downpipe
450's

i believe thats it.....his purge control valve was hooked up way wrong, and we fixed it and it boosted to 10psi fine, then came back to the house and now its doing the same ---- again

sounds very gay, but what is your spark plug gap and what plugs are you running?

is the launch control set on it? if so, he may have forgot to up the boost cut values when enabling the launch control. try setting all of the ftl, fts, and boost cut values to what you have your regular rev limiter set at, they have a tendency to over ride your regular rev limiter if they're set different, also make sure the fuel cut 'psi' value isn't set extremely low (set it to 11, that's the highest with stock map).

I don't think they have a chip burner, and I think he stated said they didn't have a launch control or didn't know. But that is what I was refering to in the first post. That happened to me before, only with FTS on a N/A car. Opps

ya no chip burner here, i just ordered one, but i dont have it yet.....anyways i dont have any ------ clue, it worked one time and boosted to 10psi through 3 gears, then back to the same old 2.5 psi.......when i switch my p28 in there with the same chip it runs way smoother but same issue of 2.5lbs
