Default tuning laptop and ostrich problem update

im looking for a laptop to tune my car with, but i dont want to spend a ton of money.

i was wondering if anyone could give me a general idea of the minimum i would need in a laptop to properly tune a vehicle.

i will be using a datalogger and the ostrich, and i have my JAW wideband reader to run as well.
or if i could be pointed to a good cheap laptop to use.

also i was wondering, how do i upload a bin to my ostrich from turboedit.

it recognizes the ostrich and says that it synched the rom with it.

does this mean that it is uploaded to the ostrich?

thanks.

I used to use a IBM thinkpad T30, and LOVED IT. Small, lightweight, durable, serial as well as USB input's. The only downside of it was the batteries were old and died fast, I got like 45 mins tops out of a charge, I usually just brought a power inverter with me. Could have got new batteries on ebay prolly too. I had to get my own because that laptop was issued to my dad through his job. I would have bought a t30 but I needed somthing a little more powerfull for my everyday use. I may get another just for tuning tho.

I also have a T30 for tuning! IBM's are ------- good laptop. I also have a HP TC4400 for my everyday use (school), but I didnt try to tune with it. I say: if you only tune your car, get anyone of the laptop you can fing on ebay for cheap.

I bought a Dell Latitude D600 few months back that came with a DVD burner on Ebay for 400 bucks, it has, wireless and all the other basic stuff. You can get alot cheaper if you don't get a dvd burner.
It has-
XP
1400 MHz processor
1 GB ram
30 gig Hard drive

I bought it really only for my car, it works great with datalogging (freelog) and Crome (Ostrich). I drive with it on everyday, datalogging and live tune. I have not has any issues yet with my dell.

LOL I search in google for "turboedit ostrich" and the second link is a thread that I made on the pgmfi forum saying that I repaired it to run with ostrich with the newer firmware. Maybe I will continue to update it soon. For your question I'm not sure, but I think it upload the rom when sync like bre.
