Default Tuning Help Via UberdataCouple of quick questions . . . . .

Couple of quick questions . . . . . i've used uberdata before but for some reason this time i'm getting stumped.

I got a 94 Integra with a b18b in it, stock, and i'm trying to tune the car but it seems as if when I get it partially tuned oneday or time of day my AFR's will be like 13's, then they will sit at like 16's, and then other times they will sit at like 11's and this is in vacuum.

What's the secret to tuning it, and keeping your AFR's in the general area you are trying to tune for?

What gear do you tune off of whens treet tuning?

I am using Uberdata 1.6

Setup:

B18B Stock
2 1/4" IC Piping
Precision Front Mount
Greddy Type RS BOV
2.5" DP
DSM 450cc Injectors
Maxrev Manifold
Tial 38mm WG (7psi)
Turbonetics T3/T04b Turbo (57 trim/.63a/r)

No Cat, Cherry bomb resonator, stock exhaust piping . . . . . any help would be greatly appreciated =)

you should tune idle first before the car get's heatsoaked, etc. if you do a full tune then go and then tune idle it's going to be off.

Well I guess i'll be doing a basemap and re-tuning then. I just really liked the map I was using because the car pulls much harder with that map, but I guess it is a little weird because everytime I feel I got a section tuned it just starts bouncing around like way to rich, or way to lean.

So tune idle first, what gear are u guys using to tune the vacuum section?

3rd or 4th on a dyno...usually 3rd. gives plenty of sampling rates/time and doesn't take too long. definately 3rd on the street unless you don't mind topping 130-140mph.

I used 2nd and 3rd on long, lonely roads.

It takes forever to accelerate without really pushing the gas.

My idle is all fucked up so I'll be retuning next spring.

sweet . . . thanks guys. So 3rd gear on the street then huh . . . . with a moderate acceleration to tune vacuum, and then ofcourse you gota do WOT runs to tune boost. You guys generally tune column by column?

I'm lazy and used Juka's excel sheet thing. I think it's called EZ Fuel? I can't find the thread for it.

Part throttle is like the minimum pressure you can put on the gas to make the car move.

what does that sheet entail? I am going to re-tune the entire thing. Better to just start off with my own stuff. Just need to find time. New clutch goes in this weekend, so after that I should be ready to tune for sure.

So to remove the Check engine from the 02 sensor you remove the 02 heater, and to run the car totally off the chip you enable or disable closed loop? I keep getting those two things mixed up.

You should be able to find it on the Uberdata forum. Basically, it has 11 or 12 sheets. You datalog in as many sessions as you want and type the results in (first 10 pages). The 11th page takes the averages of those AFRs and compares it to your existing map. It will mathmatically come up with a new map for your desired AFRs at various PSIs. It's not fullproof, but it's a really quick starting point. From there, it's fine tuning.

As far as your other question, if you have a chip in your ECU, it's going to read that unless you cut J1 (I think). That will return it to stock. You want to check the "O2 heater Disable" & "Closed Loop Disable" boxes if you're running a WBO2. If you plan on using your stock O2 sensor, you're probably wasting your time.
