Default tuning guru's chime in

Well today we had a dyno day. at a local shop i have a b16 .20 overbore 9.0cpr street tuned my self 15 pounds on lo cam high cam 20. my first question is the dyno when we did a pull i only could boost 17 psi. but to my suprise i pulled off 301.9 hp and 194.6 tq the only thing that has me thinking is my max hp was at 8150 i redline at 8800 and tq was at 7600. I think it maybe a timing problem but im not positive my af at peek hp was 10.7 i know that is pig rich but i like to play it kinda safe. What can i do to get more mid range power.

No you just need to grow a pair with the boost controller.

20 pounds makes B16s fun.

Uh yeah....right. I ran my old b16 up to 17psi on a dynojet and still never broke over 300wtq and that was from an sc61.

HP=(Tq x rpm)
----------------
5252

You do the math, only reason b16's can post high hp numbers is due to high rpm capabilities. :P

Dude a 300wtq Honda engine is going to be making like, 500whp.

I'm not hating, just saying when you throw enough boost at them they make fun street engines.

I tuned an 84mm B16 with a 57 trim on it at 18-19psi a few weeks ago that is a rocket ship, even if it's not making a ton of torque.
