Yea, that JB's dangerous stuff!! And NO, you cant use it to mount your O2 sensor bung! It is only good for 300° or so.

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

beefy as in the stock longblock on the 3sge will handle like 400hp. 7 psi will last but your going to want to crank it >:D. i sold my turbo ---- for my celica to put a new motor in it. i think im going to try a new setup with a holset hx40.

O rilly?

Sorta like SHO V6 are Yamaunits, but with finesse the internals/heads can be made to interchange with the normal Ford Vulcan blocks? Or completely alien?

jinxy 12-22-2005 04:50 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

yamaha builds most of toyotas performance engines. and if they didint manufacture it they had a hand in engineering it. my jap 3sge says yamaha all over it. but my american one didint have it anywhere. but it had the blank spots where japanese engine says yamaha on it.

penguininatux 12-22-2005 05:42 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

hey... so how much boost you thnk a 5sfe can withstand RAWR? cuz i was pretty sure 3sge are stronger than 5sfe.. Oh and.. where dd you get your 3sge engine? do they come stock in any US engines?? i always thought they were just japanese.

jinxy 12-22-2005 08:23 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

they came in some 4th gen gts celicas. thats it for the states though. orderd my new motor from nippon for 560 somthing shipped. to where i used to work. honestly tuned right. im not sure how much it could handle. on the toyota fourms everyone says like 6-7 psi. but they run the most jank ass engine management ive ever seen. its usualy an fmu with out any retardation of the timing. if you had somthing decent id say you could be fine for like 12 psi all day. but to be safe id stay in the 7-8 if your just going to run an fmu.

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

Soo... i got the d-series manifold back from the guy who was modifying it and putting the correct flange on it to bolt up to my head. IT IS THE WORST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.. Its at my buddies garage where im putting the kit in at but i'll get pics when i go up there again. Anyways its so0o bad, not to mention the flange doesnt have bolt holes, and is not completely flat.. Anyways there goes like $100 down the drain because its worthless now. It was actually a pretty nice log manifold prior to his experiement.. I cant believe i was stupid enough to let him even try. Anyways. I let him try because a manifold bought from ssautochrome, or the stock 3sgte manifold did not adapt to a t3t4 obviously (made for ct26), and those manifolds didnt have external wastegate port newhere.. So i just purchased a 3sgte manifold because of the guys imcompetency, but am still left with the problem that i need an adapter plate, and someone to weld the external wastegate port on it. I would just buy the adapter plate from WEIR RACING, but then im still left with the issue that the the external wastegate port must be WELDED STILL.. and if im going to weld at all then i could just weld the flange from the "GHETTOFIED" manifold onto the 3sgte manifold and the external wastegate and call it a day.. unfortunetly i dont know how to weld, and am very reluctant to let someone else weld anything in the near future because of my past experience...

There was this guy on EBAY sellnig the adapter plate (ct26 to t3/t4 with an integrated external wastegate port, but no longer has any. I've been looking everywhere for an identical item.. NO SUCH LUCK.

Another option is for me to buy a ct26 turbo. It would bolt right up, and i could sell the external wastegate for profit back (ct26 is internally wged) , and also save money by not having to buy an adapter plate. I've been looking for a CT26 for a reasonable price all day for the past few days , also with not much luck.. SO IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE OR HAVE A CT26 FROM A 3SGTE (TWIN-ENTRY CT26).. not one from a supra, I AM VERY INTERESTED IF YOU'RE WILLING TO THROW A REASONABLE PRICE AT ME. OR ARE INTERESTED IN THE TURBONETICS DELTAGATE (7PSI) I HAVE WITH DUMPTUBE FOR SOME TYPE OF TRADE.

Any advice, or ideas i havent come acrossed let me know!!!

Dj*DaN

!!!!!!!!!!!!THE KIT IS COMPLETED BESIDES THE MANIFOLD THOUGH BTW :y ;D :o ;).. JUST WAITING ON THIS LITTLE DILEMA IVE BESTOWED.

USS 12-24-2005 10:07 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

The CT26 is way overpriced, but I have seen some on here go for fairly cheap.

http://935motorsports.com/catalog/pr...roducts_id=917

This is another adapter plate. I believe they said they could make one for use w/ an external wastegate. I'd call them and ask.

If worse comes to worse, just sell the turbo/external and buy a used ct26. You'd break even easily.

penguininatux 12-24-2005 11:07 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

yup i already saw 935 motorsports.com.. its not the external wastegate port adapter plate. but i might call them and ask if they can make one.. but im sure it'd be pretty pricey.. Im seriously just considering buying a ct26 and selling the wastegate, and my turbo. So that was kinda my plan already.. but thanks anyways snafubmx.

blu89crx 12-25-2005 12:15 AM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

yea that would probably be the best way to go, and then you wouldnt even need a external waste gate b/c the ct26 is set at 5psi, you could probably even trade someone straight across for your turbo. but give me a call when you get all your parts and we will install that bitch!!! im a virgin to boost...cant wait to feel it!!!

$MONEY$

THEN LET ME KNOW WHEN U ARE FREE AND ARE WILLING TO DO A FEW WELDS :y

Thanks

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

AH ok, you are using a 3sgte manifold. One question though. isint this going to put your turbo into your starter? 3SGTE transmissions have the starter on the transmission side of the unit and the starter spins backwards so it gives room for the turbo. but, on my 3sge tranny the starter is on the engine side under the exaust manifold. does it clear? I have no idea if it clears on mine or not.

penguininatux 12-25-2005 02:45 AM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

yes it clears.. i dry fitted it.. there is plenty of room. i'll take pics next time at my friends (where im doing my setup)..

Later.

I don't understand why you insist on doing things your own way. Why don't you want to use the SMT6 or AFC? I know you don't know what you're doing 100%, and I know you'll run into even harder problems with Megasquirt.

penguininatux 12-25-2005 11:41 PM

Re: !!!!!!!!!TOYOTA ENGINE MANAGEMENT?

k.. snafu. give me a link to sufficient injectors, and a reasonbly priced afc hack and i'll consider buying it..

or.. if u wanna come up to washington and help me install smt6 It's all you :y (i guess its pretty simple, but u have some experience with it)

s,t6 is going to be way easyer than megasquirt, i was thinking about using ti on my next setup, if funds allow it. :y
