think i did something wrong.. please help
hey everyone... well i'm working on going turbo again and just this morning i got a VAFC for my birthday. i just finished installing it(replaced SMC+)and set everything to -46% across the rpm range. the thing is when i tried to start the car it wouldn't start and it also smelled like gasoline inside my garage. my guess is i flooded the system. thinking the VAFC was being gay i reinstalled my SMC+ and the car still wouldn't start. the SMC+ is set at -47% all across on the DSM injectors which are on the car still. all i really wanted to know is when it will be safe to try and start the car again.

i assume you have 450's in?? take your spark plugs out and turn it over a few times, then put them back in and try again after you recheck all of your settings on your afc/smc, whichever one you're using right now

..just a thought, but did you check your VAFC install?
There are certain while, when connected to wires inline with the ECU that have to be closer to the ECU than other wires on the same input. Just make sure you did everything correctly.
If you can smell gas, it sound slike you're flooding, yes. Why are you flooding? ..possibly because you connect the VAFC's MAP Sensor wire to the wrong wire on the ECU harness. MAP sensor voltage is not getting scale to compensate for the 450s. ..just a thought.

yeah... i made sure that everything was done correctly so that i would be able to drive my car with the dsm injectors... i followed the instructions like it said about some wires being closer to the ecu. as for the map sensor wire i wired it the way it said to one wire for map-in and one for map-out this was done on the red/grn wire as stated in my honda manual on the ecu pinout diagram. i put the smc back on because it was working fine with me, but now the car still won't start. i took out the spark plugs and turned the car over a couple of times and that still didn't work. so now i'm just going to try leaveing the spark plugs out turn it over a few more times and just let the car sit there and let some of the gasoline dry up since the system is flooded. thanks for the help... hopefully the car will awaken again

What I did was wipe off the plugs, reinstall them, disconnect the injectors, then cranked a few times. This worked for me. Sometimes before the initial programming of the fuel control, too much fuel is dumped, and it's not caught soon enough.

I had the same trouble when i installed those damm 400CC injectors.
THe only way i managed to start the car was like turning the fuel pressure regulator to its minimu but still i was consuming way too much fuel. smthing like 1L KM thats waaaaay too much
gas was coming out of my exhouast with some nice black smoke
now iam runing those 300cc injectors everything is perfect
