Default TE problems.

The car a b18acrx with t3/t4oe and pr4. I was using a safc with a btm before before switching over to TE. Along with the chipping I also changed my oil pan and new bov. I started for the first time today and it idles like a tractor, rpm flux from 700 to 900 rpm. i tried to rev it and it sound like a tractor reving. I burned the chip with TE try1.9. I did everything correct as far as maps and such. I noticed the engine lights stay on the whole time and the ecu doesn't give any code, the light just stays on. Does this sound familiar to anybody? I also notice there was lot of blacksmoke, but i'm asuming it's because the oilpan is too full.

Solid cell=
Bad burn, IC not socketed fully/backwards, possible soldering error....

Id reburn the chip and try again. Is your socket a wipe socket, or machined holed? (round holes in the socket)
If its wipe socket, try slightly bending the eeprom pins apart to create a better contact with the socket.

With the key on wiggle the eeprom with your thumb and see if the CEL flickers, this would also indicate a socketing problem.

Good luck.

the soldering was always good since the car was running fine before this. I had a socket is a wipe socket (it has the level to hold down the chip) The ecu has a machine socket, which was extremely hard to put in new chips, so I put the wipe socket over that. So basicly I have two socket stacking on each other, then the chip. I wonder if this could cause any problem. This really suck b/c I planned onto hitting the dyno tomorrow. I went back and read somemore about these new maps, maybe i'm using the wrong NG7

Why are you using TE try 1.9?

2.0.11 has been out for 2 weeks at least now...

Also when using a PR4...you will need to use pm7 code on a 90 ECU and I think pm6 code will run on a 91 ECU...has to do with the Baro Sensor...code 13

the reason I was using te1.9 was because I burned the chip before the new one comes out so I just wanna see how it works before anything. And yes, it was a bad burn. I took the chip in and reburn it with pm7_ng5, then export dp09 and reburn the chip, plug it in and started the car. It was much better compared to before, the idle doesn't flux as much and vacum stays at a constant 19. But the idling is still rough, i got dsm injectors with walboro pump and stock pressure, any idea why it is still a little rough?

...dude, I don't want to be a dick or anything, but complain when you're running the latest code.

That should _always_ be your first thing to do when something is wrong. Make sure you are running the latest GUI, and the latest ROM codebase, then described your problems.

As these problems could have been already fixed, and you wouldn't know about it.

dude, i don't want to be a dick but I'm not complaining, i just got a simple problem and asked about it. Insert rolleyes icon. I'm a big fan of TE and i'm not complaining about anything. I'm thinking it has somethign to do with the engine or the setup, so chill out. You don't have to chime in if you don't want to, but if you do, let it be somethign helpful.

Word from the wise, don't backtalk to the creator of a great program who I might add is doing this for in his spare time and providing a free rom editor. Since this program is always under development, there are bound to be problems. That is just the nature of the beast.
