Default sucked into turboedit

still reading, and reading on turboedit...but it looks like i'm gonna definately run turboedit. So you need the ZIF socket, a chip burner, chips, and the software. My question is are you guys running laptops and datalogging to tune? Would it be wise to invest in a cheap laptop if i wanna be burning my own chips?
I read about the ROMulator but it was sayin $180 for the cable, but i guess tahts not too much compared to the hack method i was gonna use. Anyone runnin this yet?

Well, lets just say I bought a laptop for datalogging and really haven't used it that much. The only thing a laptop is good for is the RTP and hopefully in a later version of TE, it will have wideband support. But you could really just buy a wideband and tune with your a regular computer, just got to memorize what needs to be done.
