SMC Install before injectors?
Ok. Well today I installed my o2 sim. I was wondering, can I install the smc before I put in the dsm 450's? Or will this cause problems? ???

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Any answers? :(

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
yes you can but you will not have enought gas.
But if you put all your setting to 0 % maybe it will run fine? Somebody else can confirm this? |
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
yeah smc can be set to 0 correction meaning it'll run like whatever the injectors run.
|
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Yeah, you'll have no problems if you keep the settings at 0%. I'm installing my AFC before the injectors and turbo, just to get it out of the way and learn how to use it.

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
does any one have any luck with the smc dual??just got one of those but haven't figured it out yet.

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
i got my smc dual. i installed it and after ii figured out how to tune the damn thing it's sweet. i'm only running n/a right now untill i get enough money for a boost gauge so i can throw on my kit.i am still running stock injectors, couuld i run n/a with 450cc's untill i get turbo on???

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
I don't think the SMC will lean it out enough for you to run 450's n/a.
|
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
it says it will give you decent idle, and you idle with 450cc's and little to no boost right? i'll just wait till i put my turbo kit on

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Bringin this post back. Installed my smc, all the wires are fine. Idling at 1,500. And when I rev it, it drops rpms fast like normal until 2k then goes down slowly by 100rpm down to 1,500 idle. Its without the 450 injectors, and on a walbro 255 pump. Its seeming to run real rich at 0%. Is there anyway I can bring this idle down? It'll be a few days before im boosted.

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Actually.. Just went to crank her up, same settings. Wont start. Just keeps turning over, but isnt catching. Any ideas? :(

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
was that with it set to 0%?
what happens if you wire in an SAFC and just turn the key? blown engine? just wondering how detailed the setup has to be... thanks |
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
I don't know too much about the SMC, or how to wire it, but is there anyway to lean the settings out on the SMC? If your running rich, just lean it a bit. And I know you said your wiring is correct, but just go back and make sure it's definately correct and you have a good ground and good connections. One wire is all it takes to mess something up.

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
I'll double check. Ok. Just gotta check to see if I'm right. 0% is the LEANEST, and 59% is richest right? If I'm wrong there, that could easily be my problem lol.
|
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Well like I said, I'm not too familiar with the SMC, I use the SAFC, but I know that at 0% it makes no adjustment to fuel. So yes I beleive your right that 0% is the leanest you can go. But, is there any -% adjustment on the SMC like there is on the AFC?
|
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Well see the SMC goes from 0% to -59% so I think negative is leaner? So anyway started the car and it runs.. Still high idle, still blood rich, at 59%. So I'm gonna throw my injectors in and see if it leans out more.

Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Hrm.. Also, could this be because of a vac leak in my FPR? I installed my boost gauge and Ted off of the fpr. Any ideas?
|
Re:SMC Install before injectors?
Yes, a fpr vacuum leak is a very good reason why it's running rich. Fix that biatch up man! then see what happens. Hope you get it working right man.
