Default slight misfire on tickover.

ive got a slight misfire on tickover after i fitted my 450's today

ticks over perfect tho but just doesnt sound right, normal for 10 secs then dodgy for 10 secs!

is there anything i can do to sort it?

i put the vafc settings at -46% all across the band, but it wouldnt tick over properly, so i moved the 1000 setting to -36% and it idles well exept for this small problem.

the injectors have been flow checked and all come back good, also i used the 10 watt 10 ohm inline resistors.

It sounds kinda lumpy on tickover too.

Thanks Matt B

try 1k at -38%. -36 is equal to a 288cc injector. slowly bring that back to -40% see how that goes.

i dunno if this would help, but you might try increasing your fuel gradually. i've seen other people's settings at idle as rich as -25% . i think they had idle problems before they put the 450's in though...

i know i have read about people with the exact same problem as you are describing, but i forgot where. try searching around on this site, other turbo honda sites, as well as on google. good luck.

if you can't find anything, try playing with your afc settings. i had to play with the settings on mine for like a week before i felt comfortable with them. good luck man.

Still doin this, is there anything i could of wired up wrong to make it do this, the car is drivable and i am pretty sure that i am getting slight detonation at 5k and above!

will the tuner (dyno) be able to sort this out if i take it?

well the formula is pretty simple actually. if you are at -36%, that means you are only using 64% (100-36=64). you are using 450cc injectors, so you would multiply 450cc by .64 and you would get 288cc.

also, check and see if you have ANY loose connections. i had one at first(throttle), and wasn't getting reading for throttle. also, i didn't figure this part of setting the afc for a while. when you are setting your hi/lo throttle corrections, make sure you press the "next" button. otherwise you will only be correcting low cam, and not hi. id try and make sure you got all of your settings/wirings double, or even triple, checked before you go to a dyno. a dyno should help to figure out if your settings are correct though... also, check your resistor wiring on your 450's. check for ANY mistakes you could possibly have made. once again good luck bro. pizzle fo shizzle my nuzzle.
