It's not intentional, but the poor guy is overworked to the point he gets inefficient. |
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
yeah i understand that but the sad thing was there was a shop locally to us that had sent a head to him around the same time and got it back three months later. i understand that there are priority customers and some heads will get pushed aside if somebody that gets alot of work done there comes in and needs it done fast but a year and a half is rediculus

Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
projecteg where r u located?
i know at ECP in jacksonville theres Larry, he supposed to be some tuning god. |
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
Most tuners get that reputation, haha.
|
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
ok well he tuned a friends car. cant remember the hp. but he is running 30 psi of boost on a vitara setup. running 11.1 1/4 mile times.
|
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
Sounds like your friend needs to work on his suspension, or get a lighter car, because a 400 whp D-series should run 10's. He's making Larry look bad, IMO, and that's plain disrespectful, :3

It's not intentional, but the poor guy is overworked to the point he gets inefficient. Greed will get ya everytime. Im sorry no head should take 18 months to get worked on. If you cant do a turn around in 2 months your just a bad business owner. Porting sucks but if the guy is really working 90 hours a week he has to have arms like popeye. I know my forearms are almost there and I only get the joys of porting around 5 hours a week which is enough to make me want to hang myself at my shop. |
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside

Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
For a CRX you'd get better results wth a 90-91 PM6/PS9. A CRX is also an OBD1 conversion away from one of the better standalones in the world - the OBD1 Honda ECU. E-manage will give you crippleware results, anyone with a little pride in the results of their work will turn cars like that away.

Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
ive got a b16, so hence I have a pr3..I really want to convert to OBD1 while my car is down..i like BRE, just not really satisfied with the newest release. I'm really interested in the ECtune and obd1..Ive got the whole emanage and e01 setup, so the thought had crossed my mind on using it.
|
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
I've only tuned one car on BRE, with a very early release, and it idled and ran perfectly. What is your complaint about it?
|
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
With the later releases, my car just ran funny. Idled funky-would barely idle, even with adjusting aic and other values. From the pgmfi forums it seems that many, many other people had the same issues. As well as leaning out when at idle. I know alot of the values changed with the latest release, but I had a decent street tune on mine which I bravely tried myself, consistent a/f in vac and boost and it ran great. But with the latest release, it seems like it threw everything into wack..I'm no genius when it comes to tuning and im trying to learn as I can..I'm just leaning towards OBD1 and a better way to tune. What to you prefer to tune with? This time around I'm going to let someone else tune my crx, hence to watch and learn. Cells would oddly enough seem to change by themselves, when NOT on autotune function..

I own a crx that I guarantee is in alot worse condition than yours. :1 Refer to what JD said about crome/ectune/bre all are far superior to do the job than the emanage. Thread jackin motha fucka. 700+ posts and what have you learned??? |
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
I like eCtune, but Crome does a fine job for a large number of cars. Depends on whatever tuner you go with is most comfortable with... I'm a geek, so I've never minded learning a new system, but for someone on a timeframe with bills to pay they'd rather stick to what they know.
You two would get along in person, you know. |
Re: SC/NC crome tuners, $$$$$$ inside
ok cool, gotcha. Thought you were talking bout the car, not the dingy blue box. I've never had any experience with the e-manage, neither have I heard much about it. I'd prefer to convert to obd1, but i'll stick with BRE if I can find someone smarter than me relatively close to tune it-which shouldnt be hard...since im only a self-proclaimed genius.
referring to what have i learned in 700+ posts? How to post porn and drunk pictures... Yeah i listen to what JD has to say, seems to be a man of many wise words.. |
