It's being beta-tested.

Do you know something that's not on that page? 'Cause right at the bottom it says "Ready end of November 2006"

We're in mid-late April of 2007? I'd like to give it a shot. Oh, is "waste spark" the same as distributor-less?

Hi Guys,

RICE is close to completion, not much work has been done on RICE for the past 4 months because I was getting ready to launch the Wideband Reader. Debugging the thing is a total nightmare because of all the stuff it does and I am trying to make the unit universal so I have to make sure it works with different ignition systems and airflow/pressure sensors. I am not going to launch the product until I am 100% sure it works perfectly, if the piggyback crashes your car will shut off and that is very dangerous.

For those who are interested, RICE-Racing Integrated Control Electronics offers; Piggback fuel correction, ignition retard control, Wideband control, electronic boost control, and datalogging. The Target price is ~199 USD.

Lots of people will say piggybacks are sh*t because it jacks up your timing, RICE is able to retard your timing through a 400 point tunable timing map.

Regards,

Alan To

I do not have first hand test data to support my argument. I figured that MAP voltage scaling would account for 90% of the timing going up. What I do know is that my piggyback is able to control timing, I have personally tested this on a few cars using my oscilloscope. I am not targetting my piggyback at hondas, to be honest Hondas have much better engine management options; chrome, uberdata, etc.... I am targeting cars that have very little options for engine management; mazdas, supras, newer generation cars that who's ecus have not been cracked yet.

But @ my target price of $199 I hope that many people who are already running a hacked ECU would still buy it for the wideband and electronic boost control feature and not bother with the piggyback feature.

Most interesting.
i see a problem here.
im not trying to talk ---- but, your priority is what concerns me.
you start one project with out completeing it and then jump to another.
are you going be doing this through your projects if so this could affect my intrest level.

just looking for more dedication, unless your intent is to start this and let someone else volunteer to finish it.

other wise it looks very promising.

It was not really jumping projects, I put a halt on the piggyback because it was winter so it was not really easy for me to test the piggyback on cars. The WB reader which I am currently selling was just stripped out from the piggyback unit, so I guess you can see it as I was testing the wb component of the piggyback unit.

I really needed the break from working on the piggyback unit, the wb reader gave me a little mental victory which I really needed.

Anyways, it is spring now and most of the work on my wb reader is done so I am starting to work on the piggyback now.
