Default ? regarding 2.5bar map sensor and vafc on chipped pr3...

I just picked up a 2.5 bar map sensor, and I'm getting ready to wire it in. I have a chipped pr3 running BRE for my turbo'd b16a and a vafc that sits on my dash more or less like an oversized gauge cluster. I really don't want to be bothered with pulling the afc out even though it's currently useless, but I've been reading up on some things that I'm not too sure about. I have BRE setup to run the 2.5bar sensor, that's not an issue. What I'm wondering is if the afc is going to mess with the signal before it reaches the ecu? Basicly on the vafc2 in the sensor settings you normally set sensor "in" and "out" at 06 and 06 for a stock map sensor. Am I going to have to adjust this up to meet up with the 2.5 bar unit? Or is this just for scaling when using just a vafc as crap management in order to run a different sensor? I read on H-T that if you're using the afc with 450's and a gm 3 bar you would need to set them around 14 in and 14 out in order for it to read properly. I just want to know if I need to do anything like this even though BRE is set to read this sensor? Also, if it does stay set at 06 in and 06 out, will the afc read the full 2.5 bar scale, or just limit at what a normal stock honda unit limits at?

I've been thinking about it and reviewing some things...guess I should leave it 06 in and 06 out so the ecu sees the correct voltage. Only thing will be the afc won't read the correct pressure, as it'll think it's still a stock honda map sensor. :P

Make sure input and output are set the same and at -0- across the adjustment range the AFC doesn't tamper with the signal, it just acts like a display.

Change the in/outputs around - always keeping both the same! - until you get some ballpark/correct readouts. There were 2.5 bar MAP sensor cars supported by the AFC, I think the ST205 Celica All-Trac or the OBD1 JDM 2JZ Supra, both are MAP but I could be wrong about the span of their sensors.

If you find something that reads about 0 or slightly less with the engine off and reads ~ -500 mm/Hg idling I'd say you've got a weiner. Er, a winner.

I'll look into that, thanks JD. I wasn't sure if by changing the in/out settings if it altered the map signal at all going to the ecu, since I have my basemap made up to support the 2.5bar sensor.
