FMU's are not that bad. If you have an FMU that has an adjustable rate of rise, and adjustable base pressure it will be just fine for low boost. Low boost being the boost required before you hit 80ish psi fuel pressure. About 6-9 psi depending on the car.
All that really matters here is that you can get a W/B on it and get a semi stable 12's A/F through the meat of your boosted TQ curve.
Retard the dizzy a few degrees based on audible/visable-plugs ping and BAM!!, your done.

I just dont buy into the standard, OMG!!....
-Your injectors/fuel pump are gonna wear out fast with high pressures. (shaaa, in your bra)
-your A/F isnt HT perfectly flat (who gives a ---- if it dips 11's up top)
-your internet tooner, cant tune it. (-----)

<----- puts on flame suit, lol

Im all for Uber/TurboEdit/CROME, but in some cases where you just wanna slam some boost through something, an FMU makes sense. No harness, ECU, chipping needed. Just a 15-30min FMU install, and the car starts, drives stock, and administers appropriate fuel during your 6-7psi OMFG hang on panty-rippers. haha

100% Agreed and here's why:

FMU doesnt advance your timing like the Hack does and if used in combo with a MSD BTM, you are golden.
FMU leaves everything in vacuum unchanged. Which means your gas mileage will be spot on AND, you can pass emissions if needed because you are running a STOCK ecu. ;)

I think im going to give both a try. I have my AFC controller here and DSM 450s coming (I'd always be able to resell them anyways) as well as my FMU sitting here and my Innovate wideband. Im hoping to get everything installed before the first week of Sept... i'll do tests with both and say which I like better (OBD2A Civic with D16Y8 and stock ECU).
