Quick AFC question, I was installing it!!! So this is it???
I don't feel good about this. Is it supposed to turn on as soon as the key is turned. I wired first the power and ground and when i turn the key I get nothing. I got it used, from a guy over here, could I have purchased crap? Or am I doing something wrong. Quick help please
88 dx with 91 PM6
S-afc, connected red and orange to a15 yellow/black wire and black and brown connected to a16 brown/black wire.
Do i need to connect all of them. I don't want to continue if it will not work.
Thanks

Re:Quick AFC question, i'm installing right now!!!!
well yeah, I connected to wires from the afc, the red and the orange, red is power, orange should be memory to power and ground, it should turn on, even if is doesn't work the display should turn on. Damn it, all the other wires are for signals and ---- that i don't think need to be connected for it to turn on, maybe i'm wrong and everything needs to be connected, but that's a few hours of work, not worth to do if it will not work

So that's it. anyone else
I want to be 100% sure before I go to this guy's house and start some ----. According to the FAQ here the AFC has 2 power wires and 2 ground wires.
Power= red wire & orange wire-connected to yellow/black wire of ecu
Ground= brown wire and black wire-connected to brown/black wire of ecu
After this the AFC should at least turn on when the key is turned. Right

make sure you have about an inch of space between the two wires connecting into the silgle wire. make sure you solder theme and have a good connection.. i had the same problem.

Re:Quick AFC question, I was installing it!!! So this is it???
make sure the brown wire is a cm closer to the ecu than the black wire on teh ground wire, or eelse it wont work... On my buddies teg, i only have teh red wire connected for the power, left the orange one undone, didnt say anything about it in teh safc manual on apexi's site, so i left it, and it works and stores fine...

I don't want to jack, but I have a question too.
I can't figure out what the difference on the vafc is for the vti and the vto. Of course it's for the vtec, but why two and what do each of them do? thought there was just one.
