Default Question for you uberdata guys.

Can I run a p28 on my y7 when I go obd1 and just turn off the vtec? Or would more things have to be done. Or would I have to use a p06?

You can make any ECU do whatever you want. If you're not using Vtec anyway, get a P06, they got what you need and are way cheaper.

yeah, p06's are cheaper anyways, but if you already have a p28, i would sell it and buy a p06 and get some extra cash as well. but you could use a p28, i don't even think you would have to disable vtec on the ecu b/c you don't even have anything wired up to it, so it can't do anything at all.

Just use the P28 if thats what you want to do. Don't load a VTEC map and you won't have any problems. Just use the P06.bin from uberdata and modify it to your needs.

Well the map I'm going to run is off a vtec motor. So what would I have to disable?

Disable anything Vtec related that you will not need. You won't need the high ignition and fuel tables, also disable the knock sensor (if applicable), Vtec, Vtec coolant check, and that should be it.

when you make your map in uberdata you will use the p06 bin and won't have vtec set...the p28 will work, but the p06 is way cheaper. the way you will be disabling vtec is by the bin file you burn to the chip.

ummmm there is a built in checkbox for "disable VTEC"...

Damn. I got my turbo rollin a month or so ago, chipped my ecu, bought my burner, burned 1 chip, plugged it in, and I was set. :P I haven't even fine tuned it yet. I don't drive that car enough. Do all you guys burn all sorts of chips or what? Some of you guys are burning like 10+ chips. (this is a total thread-jack)
