Re: Purchased HondaLog - Will not Log???
If you decide to use CROME and Freelog then you need to either leave out J12 or have a way to disconnect it. I have J12 on my ECU set up on a switch for this reason. That way I can datalog with whatever program I choose to use.

WOW
You are full of great info...
Thanks alot man, Its helped a ton. I found the baude rate setting as soon as I plugged in my ecu. I also cut j12, and it started sending me info (yay).
I think the reason im getting info on uberdata with j12 snipped is cause the chip is chrome... and besides, uberdata seems to misinterprite a few settings (ie mph, tps) and it doesn't display map, or iat.
O yea, and ECUcontrol works great, and reads everything w/o issues. I will thy the other program you suggested. I need to invest in a chip burner tho. Thanks again for all your help

Re: Purchased HondaLog - Will not Log???
I took some .100 spacing pin header and broke off a section of 3 pins. Then I pulled the pin in th middle out as it is not neded. I took the connectors from an old PC case and modified them to work with the pin headers I soldered onto my ECU. I did this with both J1 and J12. You need a connector with a least 3 cavities. It can have more but you only need 3. You can easily cut the extra cavities off with a pair of side cutters and clean up th cut with a razor knife. If the wires are not the correct places< the cavitie on each end of the connector, They can easily be moced to the correct position. All you need is a pick or some other small pointed object to release the pins from the connector body. Then I simply drilled a hole in the side of the case, with the board completely removed, for a mini toggle swatch. I soldered the leads from my connectors to the switches.

Thanks. I wish I was the first one to think of switching the jumpers but I first saw it done on pgmfi.org
That board is the knock board. tThe wires don't actually run to it. The wires are run to my J1 switch.

yea, I noticed that was for j1 switch right after I posted. I wonder if you could find DIP switches, that you could wire all your jumpers to. Just a thought.
Also, speeking of ecu mods. Im trying to come up with a way to put a little door for the ecu chip. So you dont have to take the whole cover off, everytime you need to switch chips. Put some hinges on it, and a little latch. I think it would be cool.
