Default problem with dual power willem burner

ultimately it wont burn my one chip I have. The only thing I did different this time was turning off the car completely then removing the chip from the zif socket instead of removing the ecu then removing the chip.

When I do a hardware test, the ID icon, it doesnt register the chip or whatever it does normally. then I was like ---- it and tryed to burn a bin any way and no go. I tryed it on a different cpu, nothing, with an ac adapter I found around the house instead of the usb, nothing. dont have another parallel cable.... I'm thinking about going to radio shack and getting another chip and see if that works or its time for a burn1.

all the jumpers and dip switches are the same from the last time I programmed it recently. I burned it yesterday. The only thing I did from here to then is I just put 450's in the car I dorve the car and I brought it with me just in case. I didn't drop the back pack it was in or anything. or manhandle it or anything. LMK if anyones had a similar problem.

What chip is it? Have you tried setting it to pcb3 and selecting the chip manually instead of ID'ing it? I don't think my SST27sf512's come up with an ID tag if I remember right.

Is your burner setup where you need to use the external jumper wire to erase it? Heck, it could be something wrong with the board itself too if the lights are flickering bad. No, radio shack doesn't carry eproms either...I already checked lol.

yes, I have to use a jumper between the 1st and 31st pin to erase and burn.

How exactly do you set the chip manually? That blows ***** radio shack doesnt sell them. frys maybe......

You can still find some 29c's out there, but not many as they're discontinued. IMO you'd be better off ordering some SST27sf's from Xenocron and trying them. Much easier to play with, and still electronic erasable.

I tryed it without the jumper and it still didn't detect it. I just order 10 chips from TT. so I'll see if that works
