Default pm6 vs ps9 ecu for turbo edit.

I just want to make sure this is right before I buy it. I have a 89 crx si that I am just finishing up with a t25 setup. I will probably build a mini me if this thing genades, and i need a newer ecu so I thought that I would buy a ps9 now so I could use it for the vtec later. Is this wrong and should I just get another pm6. Thanx in advance.

Buy a PS9.

Even if you don't use VTEC... a PS9 is still a PM6, but, when you go VTEC, you'll have that extra MCU output.

Will the output need to be modified in a way for vtec to turn on at a certain rpm?

No, that is all done through TurboEDIT. Just go under the VTEC section of ROM properties for the appropriate ROM, and set it.
