PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
1 Attachment(s)
I'm trying to wire up my new wide band and the only problem I'm having is that it says that I need the narrowband output & the linear wideband output and I don't know where these are. I have a PLX SM-AFR for a 94 honda Civic with a p28 ecu. ???

The Narrowband output goes to the normal O2 input for the ECU.

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
The narrowband goes to pin d14 of the ecu. It's on the second lagest plug. it's all white or all yellow I can't remember. I think though If you want to datalog AF with crome or uberdata freelog or whatever you'll need to run open loop thats O2 disabled, then you would want the wideband signal hooked up to d14.

I'm still a little confused, so on the wiring for the analog clip I just need the 12v source, ground, and then my wideband signal spliced to pin D14? and one pin will be left empty??

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
Yeah and then the empy wire could go to a digital display like an Ometer or something if you needed it the plx may have it's own display though I'm not very familier with them Ive only used innovative stuff so far.

Does he plx let reprogram the voltage slop for the anolog outs like an lm/lc-1?
|
Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
So the last pin would be for the gauge??
|
Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
yeah if you want to use it for that. It's just an extra output.

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
yes the plx also has a guage you can buy, i got one, its the dm5

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
Ok so I think my last question is what wire is the wideband output??

Based on the PLX-M300 I have:
Red - Power Black - Ground White - Wide Band (pin# 14 on ECU) |
Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
Ok i think where I was getting confused on was the power source. So the analog will take power from say the battery(example) and then the A\F gauge also needs a power source. Am i on track here or did I hit the crack rocks to hard :-\

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
what do you hook up to power/red wire to. it say's not to hook it up to the battery cause it's constant power

Re: PLX Wideband wiring ?? *w pics*
Way back when I installed mine, it was recommended that you tap the power & ground into wires at the ecu. Going to alternate sources could affect the reliability of your readings. I don't remember specifically which ones I used, but if you find a pinout, you should be able to figure out power & ground.
For the remaining two wires, it's up to you what you want your ECU to see. You essentially cut (not splice) your O2 wire at the ECU and solder in your wire of choice. Make sure the wire you solder to is on the harness side, not the NBO2 side. If you want to use your WBO2 as a narrowband O2, solder in that wire. If you want to datalog and tune, you need to run the other wire and disable open loop in your tuning program. Do not wire both. I'm going to switch to a less permanent setup soon, I haven't figured out how yet. Good luck with your install. ;D |
