The PLX 300 is a plug and play device. It does not make any sound. It displays the words RICH/LEAN based on the air/fuel ratio if it's extremely rich or lean.

There is a display where it tells you the a/f ratio. Might want to read up on it before you ask so many questions, usually a search can answer most of your questions. Try here : http://www.plxdevices.com/

i had the plx-m300, it was a solid wideband. im thinking of upgrading to this bad boy http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/PLXR-500. But seeing how i tune alot of cars i would have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling, so i was thinking of getting the aem unit seeing how it still uses a 0-5v output for datalogging and is about 100 dollars cheaper then the m300

The AEM is whack = non-linear output.
